Art Therapy Programs in Illinois and Virginia Receive Accreditation

Congratulations to the art therapy graduate programs at Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE)! On September 20th, the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) approved the EVMS Master of Science in Art Therapy and Counseling and the SIUE Master of Arts in Art Therapy Counseling programs for initial accreditation.

In Memoriam: Dr. Mildred Lachman-Chapin

AATA mourns the passing of Mildred (Millie) Lachin-Chapman MEd, ATR, HLM who died on August 26, 2019 at the age of 97. Millie was an educator, clinician, internationally exhibited painter, author, and was involved with the AATA since its founding in 1969.
