On March 6, 2019 leading addiction and mental health experts convened on Capitol Hill to urge lawmakers to make immediate and strategic investments in the substance use disorder (SUD) workforce during a Congressional briefing titled, “Equipping the Frontline of a Crisis: How Congress Can Empower the Addiction Workforce to Save Lives.”

On Tuesday February 26, 2019 Christopher Stowe Master Gunnery Sergeant, USMC (ret.) testified on behalf of the AATA alongside Americans for the Arts President and CEO Robert L. Lynch before the House Interior Appropriations Subcommittee.  They urged the subcommittee to fund the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) at $167.5 for FY 2020, a $12.5 million increase from FY 2019.

Consider marketing opportunities at the American Art Therapy Association’s Annual Conference.  AATA’s special 50th Anniversary  conference will be held October 30 to November 3, 2019, in the middle of America’s Heartland in Kansas City, Missouri!  We anticipate more than 1,100 attendees at this year’s conference.

Due to technical difficulties with our publisher’s typesetter, Volume 35(3) and Volume 35(4) were delayed at the end of last year and beginning of this year. The journals are on their way, and we anticipate that these technical issues have been resolved so that the publication schedule for the 2019 issues will proceed as expected.  Currently, articles from Volume 35(3) can be accessed online.
