Representatives Dave Loebsack (IA-02) & Bradley Byrne (AL-01) and Senators John Cornyn (TX) & Maggie Hassan (NH) recently introduced resolutions declaring the week of April 8th through April 12th, 2019 as National Specialized Instructional Support Personnel Appreciation Week. We urge you to write to your legislators to ask them to cosponsor this important resolution.

The NEA Once Again Faces Proposed Elimination: Join Us in Requesting a $12.5 Million Increase

On March 18, President Trump released his FY 2020 budget recommending, for the third consecutive year, complete termination of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, and Corporation for Public Broadcasting. In the last two fiscal years, Congress has firmly rejected this proposal − opting instead for minor increases.

Art Therapy Licensure Bill (HB 932) Introduced in Pennsylvania

A bipartisan sponsored bill was introduced in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives on March 25th to create a Professional Art Therapist license under the State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Professional Counselors.

Art Therapy Programs in Kansas and Virginia Receive Accreditation

We are pleased to announce that the art therapy graduate programs at Emporia State University and The George Washington University were granted initial accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)! To date, seven art therapy programs have received initial accreditation:
