Last year the AATA made a commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) to ensure it guides the Association’s work on behalf of the profession. During the April 2019 in-person board meeting, the AATA Board of Directors created the following DE&I Vision Statement to help lead this work:
AATA critically examines our structures, values, and actions to ensure the continuous integration of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization and the art therapy community.
The AATA continues to work with the IVY Planning Group as the Association keeps taking steps towards developing DE & I and advancing this strategic priority in all areas of the organization. The AATA’s Board DE&I Taskforce is currently in the process of drafting an accompanying DE&I mission statement as the next step of this critical work.
