Did you know that last year alone, articles published in Art Therapy: Journal of the American Art Therapy Association were downloaded more than 150,000 times? (Check out AATA’s 2021 Impact Report for a look at the five most downloaded articles.) It’s clear that AATA members, and the broader art therapy and mental health communities, rely on the Journal as the source for peer-reviewed information. (But stay tuned, there are some exciting announcements coming from the Journal this Spring!)

Moving forward, the Journal is looking to bring you content digitally as well as in print! Digital content enables readers to quickly access information on-the-go, and share with their networks and on social media. But we know that so many of us appreciate the hard copy, especially with the amazing cover art. If you’d like to continue receiving a print version of the Journal, please update your preferences in your MyAATA Profile by February 20th.

And, while you are in your MyAATA Profile, take a couple of minutes to complete your demographic information as well. It’s critical that we have solid data, not only for our internal learning and decision-making, but also our advocacy work on behalf of the profession.

  • Log into your MyAATA Profile
  • Click on the “Account” tab and then “Personal Info link in the menu listed on the left
  • Fill out your demographic information and Journal preference
  • Click the “Save”button at the bottom of the page.
