It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Cay Drachnik, HLM, ATR, MFCC, on December 3, 2018.  A pioneer in the field, Drachnik served as AATA President from 1987-1989 and was widely recognized for her influential work on the Government Affairs Committee in her home state of California.  She was also a founder of the Northern California Art Therapy Association, and first recipient of the chapter’s Honorary Life Member award.  Read her full obituary here.

Friends and colleagues are invited to submit memories and testimonials to be included in an upcoming Art Therapy Today article celebrating Cay Drachnik’s legacy.  Please send submissions to info@arttherapy.org by February 10, 2019.

Donations may be made in her honor directly to the Cay Drachnik Minorities Fund for Art Therapy or in her name to the 50th Anniversary Fund.
