We are excited to announce the outcome of AATA’s association elections for the Board of Directors and Nominating Committee. But first, we want to sincerely thank all the candidates who ran for a leadership position in support of our association and profession. Our association and the broader art therapy community is grateful to you for helping us advance the profession and support art therapists around the world. 

Additionally, we are also thankful for the leadership of the Board Members stepping off the Board, including Treasurer Marygrace Berberian, PhD, LCAT, ATR-BC, LCSW, and Elizabeth Hlavek, DAT, LCPAT, ATR-BC.

Incoming 2025 Board Members

We are proud to announce that Maria Kim, PhD, ATR-BC, LMFT; Rachel Mims, MS, ATR-BC, LPC-AT-S; LaToya Pegram, ATR-BC, LPC, NCC; and Traci Bitondo, Ph.D., LPC, LPAT, ATR-BC, ATCS, ACS, will be joining the Board of Directors! (An additional seat on the Board became available due to a term ending, and the Board, in alignment with AATA’s election procedures, agreed to offer the seat to the candidate with the next highest number of votes.)

Additionally, AATA Board Member Kathryn Snyder, MA, ATR-BC, LPC, PhD, was elected to serve as Treasurer. AATA President Nadia Paredes, MA, LMFT, ATR, appointed Kelly Burns, LMHC, ATR-BC, to continue on as a Board Member to take Kathryn’s vacant seat. View the full 2025 Board here.

Incoming Nominating Committee Member

We are also proud to announce that Ric Avila, M.Ed. ATR/CNSLR, has been elected to the Nominating Committee.

The Nominating Committee helps encourage others to serve as leaders in our association.
