The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) awarded initial accreditation to the Clinical Mental Health Counseling with Art Therapy Specialization and Post-Graduate MA in Art Therapy master’s programs at Caldwell University in Caldwell, New Jersey. The CAAHEP Board approved the accreditation recommendation by the Accreditation Council for Art Therapy Education (ACATE) for the art therapy graduate program on January 20, 2022.

The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) awarded initial accreditation to the Marital Family Therapy with Specialized Training in Art Therapy master’s program at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California. The CAAHEP Board approved the accreditation recommendation by the Accreditation Council for Art Therapy Education (ACATE) for the art therapy graduate program on January 20, 2022.

The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) awarded initial accreditation to the Counseling & Personnel Services with a Concentration in Art Therapy master’s program at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky. The CAAHEP Board approved the accreditation recommendations by the Accreditation Council for Art Therapy Education (ACATE) for the art therapy graduate programs on January 20, 2022.

As the quality review of master’s level art therapy programs continues to transition over the next several years, it is important to remember that both AATA approved and newly CAAHEP accredited programs prepare their students for entry-level skills and post-graduate certification as an art therapist.
