In celebration of the AATA Conference to be held October 31 to November 4 in Miami, FL, the Clinical Art Therapy Department of Miami-Dade County Public Schools will offer an art exhibit in the baggage claim area of the Miami International Airport near Carousel 15.
The exhibit titled ARTWORKS: Navigating Student Success will be on display from October 23, 2018 through January 31, 2019. The exhibit will showcase the Miami Dade County Public School Clinical Art Therapy Department’s school art therapy program services through selected student artworks from the 40 years of its existence. Visitors and passengers will have access to the exhibit in the baggage claim area. We hope all conference attendees arriving at the airport will enjoy the exhibit!
“Understanding.” Mixed Media on Canvas Board.
Student Statement: “Understand me. Understand what I go through. I don’t talk about my feelings. I just paint it out. I feel like I let all the anger out on the canvas. Listen to me. Don’t judge me. Don’t feel pity for me. Just try understanding.”
