July 8, 2025
We are excited to be planning AATA2025—both our In-Person Conference in Portland, and the Virtual Conference! As part of both conferences, we will be offering opportunities to showcase the many talents of our AATA members.
On October 9 from 5:30–8:30pm we will be hosting the annual Arts and Crafts Marketplace, one of the most popular events at our in-person conference. Enjoy a drink from the cash bar while browsing a wide array of handmade artwork, jewelry, crafts, and more—perfect for picking up a thoughtful gift for a loved one or a unique souvenir for yourself. Plus, stop by the Author Tables to meet our most recently published AATA members!
If you’re an AATA member with handmade work to sell, or if you’ve published a book in the past two years (2023–2025), we invite you to take part! Both the Marketplace and Author Meet and Greet offer a fun, casual environment to connect with fellow attendees and share your work.
AATA Arts & Crafts Marketplace
Each year at the in-person conference, we host an Arts & Crafts Marketplace where conference attendees may display their handmade crafts, art, jewelry, and more for purchase. Table reservations are available for $40 for members and $55 for non-members. To reserve a table, simply add the table when registering for the conference. If you are already registered, login to MyAATA and navigate to the purchases tab of your profile, and click the blue “View” button next to your AATA2025 purchase to add the session to your registration.
Participants are responsible for bringing their own offerings.
AATA Author Meet and Greet
This year, AATA Member authors may showcase their books for purchase at the in-person conference as well as on our AATA virtual bookstore.
Alongside the AATA Arts & Crafts Marketplace, this evening event allows conference attendees to meet AATA Member authors. We will also provide authors with tabletop sign holder with an image of their book and a QR code where attendees would be able to purchase their book via AATA’s virtual bookstore on bookshop.org (or any link of your choice).
Authors may also bring display copies of their books if they’d like. We will have AATA2025-branded bookmarks that authors may personalize and sign as a gift to attendees. (But authors may feel free to create their own bookmarks if they choose!)
(Sign-ups for the Author Meet and Greet are currently full.)

Meet the Authors Chats
We also hope you’ll join us for our Author Talks, hosted from 12:00 to 12:50pm each day of the conference. These talks are an opportunity for the authors to talk with each other in a small panel format about what inspired them to write their books and their writing process and answer attendee questions.
If you are interested in participating in the in-person conference author events, please reach out to info@arttherapy.org and we will send you a link to a form to fill out.
Not Coming to Portland? Join us Virtually!
Similar to last year’s virtual conference author sessions, these virtual chats will be informal panel discussions, so attendees can “unmute” themselves and ask questions. The authors will also ask each other questions for what we hope to be a lively discussion! (Learn more about the Virtual Conference)
Why Bookshop.org?
We are using bookshop.org to power our AATA virtual bookstore because it is a certified B-organization created in 2020 for socially-conscious online shoppers. When people purchase any book through our virtual bookstore, 10% of the sale is donated to AATA. Bookshop.org has access to more than 13 million books. However, if your book is not listed in bookshop.org, we will find another way that attendees may purchase your book virtually. In past years, we worked with a vendor to ship copies of books for sale during the in-person conference. However, increased postal costs have made this option prohibitive for us.
We will also be promoting the AATA virtual bookstore—and our amazing AATA Member authors year-round!
