We are pleased to announce that the art therapy graduate programs at Emporia State University and The George Washington University were granted initial accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)!
To date, seven art therapy programs have received initial accreditation:

- Edinboro University – Edinboro, PA
- Emporia State University – Emporia, KS
- Florida State University – Tallahassee, FL

The AATA is proud to sponsor the accreditation process through CAAHEP, the largest programmatic accreditor of the health sciences professions, managed by the Accreditation Council for Art Therapy Education (ACATE). We extend our gratitude to everyone on ACATE for leading us through this transition and to all program directors and faculty whose hard work resulted in these first programs’ receiving accreditation and more on the way!
