The Saturday Morning Plenary presenters at this year’s AATA Conference in Miami, FL invite you to provide questions and share areas of interest to help inform their presentation scheduled for Saturday, November 3, from 8:15 to 9:45 a.m. by participating in a dedicated online Open Forum discussion available to members in MyAATA.

The presentation, Building for Tomorrow: Conversations in Neuroscience, Art and Related Therapies consists of a panel of art therapy and neuroscience experts who will discuss how neuroscience informs clinical practice in art therapy and the creative arts therapies and why a “brain-based perspective” matters.  They will also discuss what we currently know about the brain and why additional research is key to inform all levels of education, training, and practice in the art therapy profession.

Girija Kaimal, EdD, ATR, will serve as the moderator for both this online forum and the plenary session at the conference.  Joining her in the live conference presentation are panelists: Juliet King, MA, ATR-BC, LPC, LMHC, Chris Belkofer, PhD, ATR-BC, LPC, Christianne Strang, PhD, ATR-BC, and  Lukasz Konopka, PhD a clinical neuroscientist and psychologist.

A lively Q&A segment at the conclusion of the conference presentation on Saturday, November 3 will include questions from both the participants in the online forum, as well as the live audience.  This is your opportunity to have this diverse and prominent panel of experts answer your questions about the subject matter.  We invite all to submit questions or suggestions on content for the session via the Online Open Forum.  Visit the forum to connect to the online discussion now.
