March 25, 2021 | Christianne Strang, PhD, ATR-BC, CEDCAT-S, Chair, Nominating Sub-Committee
I am reaching out to you on behalf of the AATA Nominating Sub-Committee to encourage you to put yourself or a respected colleague forward as a nominee for an AATA leadership position. From responding to the global pandemic and addressing diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization to moving forward with professional education and licensure, our art therapy association requires an active and engaged leadership. Please think of those individuals, including yourself, whom you envision bringing beneficial energy and skills to our organization. Once you identify those individuals, please help create the best possible leadership team by submitting a nomination for the 2021 Candidate Slate for the AATA’s Board of Directors and Nominating Committee.
The AATA is currently accepting nominations for AATA members to serve two-year terms (2021-2023) in the following positions:
- President-elect (1)
- Secretary (1)
- Board of Directors (3)
- Nominating Sub-Committee (1)
What’s the process?
Please submit Candidate Applications and Nomination Forms by May 6th, 2021. Find all forms, position descriptions, and more information on MyAATA (under the “Nominations & Elections” header). Please reach out to the AATA National Office if you have any questions (firstname.lastname@example.org). The National Office can help you connect with members of the Nominating Committee or with current members of the Board.
Once all nomination forms have been reviewed by the Nominating Committee, the 2021 elections slate will be created from the most qualified candidates. Candidates selected for the final slate will provide written position statements in response to questions developed by the Nominating Committee. Those questions and answers will be published in July 2021 for all members to review before elections take place in August 2021.
Please remember to vote. Your voice is important! Voting will be open to all Professional, Credentialed Professional, Retired Professional, New Professional, and Honorary Lifetime Members of the AATA. Eligible members may vote online or request a paper ballot to vote via mail. Interested individuals are always welcome to contact the AATA via e-mail: email@example.com or toll-Free at 1-888-290-0878 for more information.
