Last month, two additional art therapy master’s programs received initial accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon recommendation of the Accreditation Council for Art Therapy Education (ACATE).
CAAHEP awarded initial accreditation to the Art Therapy master’s program at Adler University in Chicago, Illinois. The CAAHEP Board approved the accreditation recommendation by ACATE for the art therapy graduate program on January 18, 2024.
CAAHEP awarded initial accreditation to the Art Therapy master’s program at Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. The CAAHEP Board approved the accreditation recommendation by ACATE for the art therapy graduate program on January 18, 2024.
These are the 34th and 35th art therapy master’s program to receive initial accreditation from CAAHEP upon the recommendation of ACATE in the past four years.
AATA is proud to sponsor the CAAHEP accreditation process managed by the Accreditation Council for Art Therapy Education (ACATE). As the quality review of master’s level art therapy programs nears the completion of the transition of AATA approved programs to CAAHEP accredited programs, it is important to remember that both types of programs prepare their students for entry-level skills and post-graduate certification as an art therapist.
