Congratulations to the Art Therapy program at Albertus Magnus College (AMC) in New Haven, CT, for receiving accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)!  The CAAHEP Board approved the accreditation recommendation on November 16, 2018, making AMC’s art therapy program the second to be accredited, following Edinboro University in September.  Site evaluations of several additional program have been scheduled across the country, and the AATA looks forward to seeing more programs become accredited in the coming months!

Program Director of the Master of Arts in Art Therapy and Counseling at Albertus Magnus College, Lisa Furman, ATR-BC, LCAT, LPC, comments:

As the only graduate art therapy program in Connecticut, we naturally create a benchmark for practice in the state.  In keeping with these standards, the rigorous guidelines of the CAAHEP accreditation assures that our students are well prepared as future professionals.
