August 23, 2024
We are so excited to host AATA2024, our annual in-person conference in Pittsburgh, PA! As part of the conference, we will be offering two opportunities to showcase the talents of our members: the AATA Member Bookstore and the Arts & Crafts Marketplace! Both of these will be held as one event on Monday, Oct. 7, 6:30 – 8:00 pm in the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh King’s Garden Room 3-5.
By hosting both the Bookstore and Arts & Crafts Marketplace during one event together in one room, we hope to create a festive atmosphere to celebrate the creativity of our art therapy community! If you are attending the conference, join us and be prepared to be wowed! There will be complimentary snacks and a cash bar.
If you are a recently published author or would like to sell your artisanal crafts and gifts, here are the details on how to participate and reserve your table.
AATA Arts & Crafts Marketplace
Each year at the in-person conference, we host an Arts & Crafts Marketplace where conference attendees may display their handmade crafts, art, jewelry, and more, for purchase. Table reservations are available for $35 by logging into your MyAATA profile and clicking on the purple Store button.
Participants are responsible for bringing their own offerings, and we are exploring options for virtual sales during future virtual conferences.
AATA Member Bookstore
This year, AATA Member authors may showcase their books for purchase at the in-person conference as well as on our AATA virtual bookstore.
During the conference, we are inviting AATA Member authors to present display copies of their books at their own individual tables and introduce them to AATA attendees personally.
Authors will also have a tabletop sign holder with an image of their book and a QR code where attendees may purchase the book, preferably via AATA’s virtual bookstore on bookshop.org. If your book is not listed in bookshop.org, we will find another way that attendees may purchase your book virtually.
In past years, we worked with a vendor to ship copies of books for sale during the in-person conference. However, increased postal costs have made this option prohibitive for us.
We will also have AATA2024-branded bookmarks that authors may personalize and sign as a gift to attendee book buyers. (But authors may feel free to create their own bookmarks if they choose!)
If you are interested in participating in the in-person conference bookstore, please log in to your MyAATA account and head to your AATA2024 registration. You will see “Author Table – AATA Member Bookstore” in the schedule of events for Oct. 7. (See screenshot below.)
About Our Virtual Bookstore
.We will also be promoting the AATA virtual bookstore—and our amazing AATA Member authors year-round! We are using bookshop.org to power our AATA virtual bookstore because it is a certified B-organization created in 2020 for socially-conscious online shoppers. When people purchase any book through our virtual bookstore, 10% of the sale is donated to AATA. Bookshop.org has access to more than 13 million books.
