May 20, 2020 |Gioia Chilton, PhD, ATR-BC, LCPAT, CSAC, Nominating Sub-Committee Chair
Hello AATA Members! I was recently appointed Chair to the Nominating Sub-Committee and would like to encourage you to share nominations for AATA leadership positions. From responding to the global pandemic to moving forward with professional education and licensure, our art therapy association requires an active and engaged Board of Directors. Many of AATA’s members have incredible energy and skills that could benefit our organization. The Nominating Sub-Committee encourages you to bring forward that expertise through the nominations process and through participating in the association’s elections! Consider nominating yourself or a colleague for possible inclusion in the 2020 Candidate Slate for election to the AATA’s Board of Directors. And, don’t forget to vote!
The AATA is currently accepting nominations for AATA members to serve two-year terms (2020-2022) in the following positions:
- Board of Directors (3)
- Speaker of the Affiliates (1)
- Treasurer (1)
- Nominating Sub-Committee (1)
What’s the process?
Please submit Candidate Applications and Nomination Forms by June 18, 2020. Find all forms, position descriptions, and more information on MyAATA. Please reach out to the AATA National Office if you have any questions. The National Office can help you connect with members of the Nominating Committee or with current Officers and Directors so that they can share their experiences. Once all nomination forms have been reviewed by the Nominating Committee, a 2020 slate of qualified candidates will be created. Candidates on the slate will provide written position statements regarding issues of concern to the profession, which will be published in July 2020 for all members to review before elections take place in August 2020. Voting is open to all Professional, Credentialed Professional, Retired Professional, New Professional, and Honorary Lifetime Members of the AATA. Eligible members may vote online or request a paper ballot to vote via mail. Members are always welcome to contact the AATA via e-mail: info@arttherapy.org or toll-Free at 1-888-290-0878 for more information.
Let’s create the best possible AATA leadership team, so that our association’s vision—that the services of licensed, culturally-proficient art therapists are available to all individuals, families, and communities—can become reality! And thank you for all your efforts to provide art therapy services to all people, today and tomorrow, enabling our best possible future.
Warmly,
Gioia
