In her clinical work, Joanna thoughtfully incorporates nontraditional exploratory tools, including tarot imagery, crystals, aromatherapy, sacred texts, and other symbolic materials, as reflective prompts within the therapeutic process. These tools are utilized not as predictive or prescriptive interventions, but as pathways for self-exploration, emotional insight, creative expression, and therapeutic dialogue. Through this approach, clients are invited to engage with personal symbolism, deepen self-awareness, and access internal experiences that may be difficult to express through words alone. Joanna also integrates these exploratory materials into practical coping and skill-building interventions. Through art-making, symbolic reflection, and sensory engagement, clients develop mindfulness practices, grounding techniques, emotional awareness, distress tolerance, and self-regulation skills that can be applied beyond the therapy session. In addition to her clinical work, Joanna provides supervision to clinicians and interns, develops training programs for helping professionals, and collaborates with schools and community organizations to expand access to mental health and art therapy services.
