On March 11, 2021 the AUC Art Collective offered, Career Conversation: The Profession of Art Therapy with Cheryl Doby-Copeland, HLM, PhD, ATR-BC, LPC, LMFT and Deanna Barton, MA, ATR-BC, as part of their Virtual Career Week programming. The dynamic conversation is now available online!
More about the collaboration
The American Art Therapy Association (AATA) is proud to collaborate with the Atlanta University Center Art History + Curatorial Studies Collective (AUC Art Collective) to raise awareness about art therapy! Working with Spelman College and the Morehouse School of Medicine, the AUC Art Collective’s goal is to introduce the Atlanta University Center community to the art therapy profession over the course of the Spring 2021 semester. There are approximately 8,850 students attending Atlanta University Center Consortium (AUCC) member institutions.
Operating within the largest consortium of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), the AUC Art Collective offers a BA in Art History and minors in Curatorial Studies and Art History to students at Spelman College, Morehouse College and Clark Atlanta University. It is the first and only undergraduate program in the US envisioned to train the next generation of African Americans in global art industry.
