The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) awarded initial accreditation to the Art Therapy master’s program at Mount Mary University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The CAAHEP Board approved the accreditation recommendation by the Accreditation Council for Art Therapy Education (ACATE) for the art therapy graduate program on March 15, 2024.

This is the 36th art therapy master’s program to receive initial accreditation from CAAHEP upon the recommendation of ACATE since 2018

AATA is proud to sponsor the CAAHEP accreditation process managed by the Accreditation Council for Art Therapy Education (ACATE). As the quality review of master’s level art therapy programs nears the completion of the transition of AATA-approved programs to CAAHEP accredited programs, it is important to remember that both types of programs prepare their students for entry-level skills and post-graduate certification as an art therapist.
