The American Art Therapy Association (AATA) has begun the hiring process for the Editor in Chief of Art Therapy: Journal of the American Art Therapy Association. The Journal is a peer-reviewed, scholarly publication that has a readership comprised of educators, practitioners, and students.

Nancy Schoebel was an inspiring art therapist and a vigorous advocate of art therapy at the local and national levels who made enduring contributions to the field through her advocacy work. 2021 Honors: Introducing the Outstanding Applied Creative Practice Award

I am pleased to announce the Outstanding Applied Creative Practice Award inspired by the life and work of art therapist, artist, author, and puppet maker, Dr. Lani Gerity Glanville.

This session is open to anyone who may be interested in learning more about AATA’s election process and we encourage you to join if you yourself might be considering volunteer service on the AATA’s board or nominating committee. Registration is free and you do not need to be an AATA member to attend.
2021 Pearlie Roberson Annual Award

Members of the AATA are encouraged to apply for the Pearlie Roberson Annual Scholarship Award, honoring Pearlie Roberson, an African American artist and art therapy client. The award provides financial support for work undertaken by a student or professional member of AATA, which targets multicultural aspects and capacities of art therapy in the community. The application deadline is May 1, 2021.
Consider Applying for a 2021 Research Grant or Award

Opportunities to participate in research and learn more about the status of evidence-based practice in art therapy include, annual research grants and awards, paper and panel presentations at the annual conference and a student poster presentation that includes both graduate and undergraduate contributions.
