AATA STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS

Student Scholarship to the AATA Conference

Scholarship Application


Deadline (postmark): July 15, for all applications and materials. Scholarships are awarded in November at the AATA National Conference. All incomplete application packets and those postmarked after July 15 will not be considered.

Note: STUDENTS MUST BE ACTIVE STUDENT MEMBERS OF AATA AND HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED OR ARE ATTENDING AN AATA APPROVED GRADUATE ART THERAPY PROGRAM IN ORDER TO APPLY FOR AND TO RECEIVE A SCHOLARSHIP.

Membership applications can be submitted at the same time as the scholarship applications, but must be sent to AATA separate from the scholarship applications by the same July 15 deadline noted above.

The following are descriptions of the currently available scholarships. Instructions and the necessary criteria for application is available on the Scholarship Application. Scholarships are granted once each year.

The AATA Scholarship Committee is proud to announce the student scholarships recipients for 2007. Congratulations to the following winners:

AATA Anniversary Scholarship Fund

Available to students who can demonstrate financial need, acceptance and or enrollment in an AATA approved graduate art therapy program, and a GPA of at least 3.25.

2007 Recipient: Amanda Alders - Nazareth College

Myra Levick Scholarship Fund

Available to students who can demonstrate financial need, acceptance into an AATA approved art therapy program, and an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0.

2007 Recipient: Awa Jangha - Drexel University

Rawley Silver Award for Excellence

Available to students whose academic record or prior experience is deemed excellent. Applicants must be enrolled in or accepted by a graduate level AATA approved art therapy program. Where there is no financial need, a $100 honorarium will be granted. Students applying for the full scholarship must demonstrate financial need.

2007 Recipient: Alia Arbas - Loyola Marymount

Cay Drachnik Minorities Fund

Specifically designed for the purchase of books, this fund is available to members of an ethnic minority group who are enrolled in an AATA approved program and who can demonstrate financial need.

2007 Recipient: Eun Young Won - Antioch University

Pearlie Roberson Award

To provide financial support for a project, undertaken by a student or professional art therapist, and targeted at exploring or explaining the multicultural aspects and capacities of art therapy.

2007 Recipient: Brian Berlinski

Student Scholarship to AATA Conference Awards

To provide financial support to attend the annual AATA Conference.

2007 Recipients: Erika Vinson - School of the Art Institute, Mary Schumaker - Mount Mary College, Robert Ryan - Alder School of Professional Psychology

Prasad Family Foundation-International Student Scholarship

To provide financial support for international students enrolled in an AATA Approved Graduate Program

2007 Recipients: Sato Ayako - Antioch University, Mei Chi Tung - Notre Dame de Namur University
